This report describes the characterization of energy consumption distribution at PCTs, including the development of energy consumption profiles and calculation of carbon footprint generated in terms of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions.
Integral Assessment on GREENCRANES Eco-Efficient Alternatives
This deliverable will present the evaluation of selected eco-efficient alternatives in terms of technical, environmental and economical feasibility. The approach will be based on both the technological and managerial dimensions considering the use of alternative fuels and more efficient energy sources (LNG for vehicles, electrification for yard cranes) as well as the definition of energy efficiency management procedures and indicators.
Prototypes Pilots and Demonstrations Plan
This report will describe the steps and phases planned to develop the scheduled pilot demonstrations of GREENCRANES. Two pilots will be carried out at Noatum Container Terminal Valencia. The first one will consider the use of LNG as alternative fuel in terminal tractors and the second one will perform RTG retrofitting in order to demonstrate that energy savings are compatible with efficient port operations. The second pilot demonstration will be performed at Livorno Darsena Toscana (Port of Livorno) and will test a prototype reach stacker equipped with a LNG dual-fuel engine. The third pilot demonstration will take place at the container terminal of the Port of Koper and will demonstrate the implementation of a real-time energy monitoring system.
Final Report on GREENCRANES Results and Policy Recommendations
This deliverable will present the conclusions derived from the project activities, including the pilot and demonstration results, which will be used as key input to define policy recommendations oriented to port container managers, energy efficiency managers as well as port machinery manufacturers.
